We’re a week into the new year, where are you at with your resolution?


We can make lofty resolutions as we’re surrounded by loved ones as we ring in the new year (especially after the champagne), but it can be difficult to stay motivated, even in the first week.


Why is it so hard to stick to our resolutions?


Fitness is a journey, and you can’t expect things to change overnight — which is what most of us go into it with. Developing strong, consistent habits takes time because you have to adjust both physically and mentally, and if you’ve created bad habits along the and up until this point, it will take a moment to change them.  


Give yourself time.


When we’re in a rush to see results — perhaps you wanted to drop 10 pounds in a month or run an eight-minute mile — this often sets us up for failure. As you adjust your mindset and get real with your expectations, you can create a new framework that helps you stick to resolutions, longer.
